Infidelity

I recently watched a movie called The Last Kiss, which is about a guy who has an amazing relationship with a girl, they are so happy. At the start of the film she finds out she is pregnant and the guy all of a sudden feels trapped and scared. He meets a new girl at a wedding and confides in her about how he feels about the relationship, the new girl is young and exciting and makes the guy feel younger. He starts to hang out with her without telling his girlfriend... he decides to go to a party with her and tells a friend if his girlfriend asks where he is tell her she is with him. Soon they kiss and the guy feels guilty and goes back home to his girlfriend, but he is unaware his girlfriend knows where he has been, she confronts him, he tells her they just kissed, and they end up having a huge row, the guy goes back to the other girl and ends up sleeping with her. The next day he goes to talk to his girlfriend, she is willing to try again until he tells her they slept together. He then ends up sitting outside her house for days until she is ready to talk.
It's a really good movie even though it is a bit upsetting! It made me think about why people cheat, it just causes heartache when the other person finds out, not to mention that all trust the couple had would have gone. I can understand the guy felt trapped and like nothing new was going to happen in his life but he was just looking at it from the wrong angle. If you are so happy with someone why jeopardize it by cheating? I have cheated on a boyfriend in the past but I was young, I wouldn't do it again now. I believe if you are with someone then you should be monogamous and if things go wrong in the relationship then end it.
